Bionatic is one of 12 partners in the EU funded R&D project “HyperBioCoat”. The project contains the development of a compostable coating for food packaging, which is made of Biomass waste.

After an intensive one year preparation phase followed by several months of testing by the EU, all involved project partners could celebrate the affirmative confirmation for funding of the “HyperBioCoat” development as part of the European program called  H2020 “Research & Innovation Bio-economy ”.

The implementation has occurred on September 1st 2016 under the mantle of the European Public-Private-Partnership “BBI” and contains multiple years of intensive cooperation between the partners of Research & Development and Industry & Commerce.

One of the involved partners is the Fraunhofer-Institut ISC from Würzburg. They are a leading institute in material research and development of hybrid coatings. From the industry a total of 11 companies are involved in the project. They cover from seven different European countries:  Poland, Spain, Greece, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.
